Manatees Aramaná and Yuisa were removed from the area in front of Punta Salinas beach in Toa Baja, where they had been adapting to sea life after being rehabilitated, at the possibility that there may be a fuel spill from the American Cruise Ferries ship that ran aground near the coast of San Juan.

In response to recent videos showing beach goers bothering four manatees at Crash Boat beach in Aguadilla, Secretary of Puerto Rico's Natural and Environmental Resources Agency, Carmen Guerrero Pérez, has made an urgent call to Puerto Rico's citizenship o avoid disturbing marine species and notes that violators may be charged under federal and Puerto Rican laws that protect endangered species.

A video of several beach goers harassing manatees in Crash Boat beach in Aguadilla is causing great concern. In addition to violating state and federal laws, there people risked suffering bodily harm and hurting the manatees, an endangered species.
