Para obtener un mayor provecho a nuestro alrededor es necesario entender y comprender la materia y todo lo que nos rodea. Por esta razón que el implementar formas para obtener data es crucial para los investigadores y para el crecimiento del mundo. NanoSIMS es solo una de las maneras que el ser humano ha desarrollado para entender la materia.

One of the New Faces of Engineering at the international level is from UPR-Mayaguez. Yazeli Elizabeth Cruz Rivera, a first year graduate student in the Industrial Engineering Graduate Program was selected as one of the New Faces of Engineering 2016.

The FDA has recently aproved a device co-invented by Dr. Eduardo J. Juan García, Professor in the Deparment of Electric Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. This device, developed to optimize artificial ventilation in neonatal and pediatric patients, will be moving to the comercialization stage.

The Marine Sciences Department of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus will offer the first Latinoamerican and Caribbean Multivariate Analysis Course using PRIMER V7 & PERMANOVA add on. This couse is scheduled from May 23 to June 3 at the Magueyes Island in Lajas, Puerto Rico.

The Puerto Rico Math Olympics, project that is led by the Mathematical Sciences Department at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, will begin its 17th cycle. The participation exam is directed for students from 3rd to 11th grade of all schools and will available at www.ompr.pr until April 30, 2016.

After years of effort, Casa Pueblo's community proposal for the development of exterior lighting with high energetic efficiency is finally a technical reality. The Posterriqueño, which works with LED techonology, is ready for the first cycle of production.

The Preveterinarian Program from the Animal Sciences Department at the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez and the School of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University in St. Kitts signed a historic agreement that will guarantee the annual admission of 15 students into the Veterinary Medicine Doctoral Program.
