I was raised in Isabela, PR and attended public school until I graduated high school. I completed my BA in psychology at the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras, where I met wonderful people and created many fun memories. I then moved to Iowa where I had the opportunity to be mentored by Dr. Daniel Tranel in the clinical psychology program. In Iowa, I was able to develop my own research interests, acquired multiple research skills, mentored students, and shared science with the community. My experiences at the University of Iowa reinforced my decision to work in academia, and to continue to take steps towards bridging the gap between laboratory findings and its applications in the community. I recently moved to Boston to complete my clinical residency at the Boston VA after successfully defending my dissertation. On my spare time I enjoy exercising, dancing, reading, cooking, and creating memories with all of those people who I value and make this life worth living.
