Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I studied Industrial Biotechnology program at the UPR, Mayaguez. I worked in Dr. Yamamura’s lab at PSM. After four years working in the Yamamura lab as a technician, I joined to Dr. Quirk’s lab in Neuroscience. My position was Lab Supervisor and technician, I worked four years and then I decided begin doctoral studies. Currently, I'm in my second year graduate student in James Porter laboratory at Ponce School of Medicine .
In the Quirk lab, I help in the investigation of fear extinction, which is clinically applicable to the development of new treatments for mental disorders such as anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.
