Have a BS in Biology from UPR Mayagüez (1978), and a PhD in Biophysics from Stanford University (1987). Did a Post-Doctoral fellowship in NMR and Anesthesia at UCSF (1983-86). Was a Research Associate in Pediatrics at Stanford Medical School (1988-89). Been at UPR School of Medicine in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine since 1989. Has worked in computational biophysics and bionformatics training and research since 1996.
Currently studying protein evolution using bioinformatics and structural biology. Also doing evidence based medicine and biostatistical research. Interested in the molecular properties of new iron based compounds with the potential to be MRI contrast agents.
