Puerto Rico Science and Technology Trust deserves support

The Puerto Rico Science and Technology Trust has the capacity to propel Puerto Rico into a knoledge-based economy. It is time this important institution receives serious support from the industry, academia and government.

The Puerto Rico Science and Technology Trust was created seven years ago and its slated to invest $45 million in the future of research and development in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, this important institution is facing serious challenges coming from the government.

Al Gore says that Puerto Rico has the potential to become a leader in solar energy

In a talk Friday, November 5th in Puerto Rico, the ex-vice president of the U.S. and environmental leader, Al Gore, said that solar energy would be the primary energy source in the 21st century and that Puerto Rico had all the elements to become a leader in this field. His remarks go against the current Puerto Rican government's push for an island gas pipeline.
