The Puerto Rico Conservation Trust announced the creation of a new division called "Para la Naturaleza" (translated as 'for nature'), focused on protecting 33% of land in Puerto Rico by 2033. Currently only 8% of land in Puerto Rico is protected, according to the Trust's executive director, Fernando Lloverás.
