Conditions

  • Submissions must be in English or have English subtitles, and there must be a preview AND screening copy available in English or with English subtitles, excepting music videos and films without dialogue.
  • If your film is accepted, ISFF generally screens off of DVD or Mini DV but we can often assist filmmakers in making transfers from other types of masters if necessary. We may also be able to screen in other formats as the festival gets closer.
  • For a complete list of accepted films from previous years, please visit our Festival Archives page.

Deadlines, Fees and Notification

All on-time submissions for 2013 will be notified of their status the month prior to the festival (all fees are in U.S. dollars ONLY, foreign currency cannot be accepted). The submission deadlines are as follows

Early Deadline (May 1, 2013)

Regular Deadline (June 15, 2013)

Late Deadline (August 15, 2013)

    • The submission fee need only be paid once per filmmaker per year. You may submit multiple films without paying an additional fee in 2013.
    • All filmmakers will receive notification, whether or not their film is chosen to screen as part of the fall series. Please DO NOT contact us to find out whether or not your film has been received. We do not have a large enough staff to respond to such inquiries.
  • Submissions made through Withoutabox must make their submission fee payments through Withoutabox. All submission fees must be paid in U.S. currency. If you are submitting a film from outside the U.S. by mail, please pay with a credit card online via Withoutabox. Please also note that entries must be made no later than September 30, 2013 (including payment of the submission fee through Withoutabox), for consideration for the 2012 ISFF.
