K12 educators and specialists from any US institution (public school, private school, museum, after-school program, etc.) are invited to apply for the June 2014 Communicating Science Workshop! This workshop will take place Sunday, June 15th from 9 am - 5 pm at the Microsoft Nerd (New England Research & Development) Center (http://microsoftnewengland.com/) in Cambridge, MA.
This unique professional development experience will provide attendees with a fantastic opportunity to convene in Cambridge, MA to meet young leaders in the communication of science, learn from and interact with a remarkable group of invited experts, and produce innovative curriculum to communicate complex technical concepts from STEM disciplines to a K12 audience. K12 educators will focus on making current cutting edge research and data available to their classes, working with graduate students in STEM disciplines.
Application, registration, and attendance to the workshop is free of charge for accepted applicants. Full or partial travel support will be provided to accepted applicants from outside the Cambridge area. Funding for out-of-state participants is currently limited, so preference will be given to participants from the state of MA.
ComSciCon applications are highly competitive and we encourage applicants to prepare their responses carefully. Only 15-20 educators will be selected to attend.
