On January 12th, 2010, a little after 5:00 P.M. (Eastern Time) Haiti was hit by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake, centered about 10 miles of Port-au-Prince, the nation's capital. This earthquake has affected over 3 million people in this Caribbean country, which is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. You can help Haitian victims of this earthquake. CNN has compiled a list of organizations helping Haiti that can be found here. For example, you can text 'HAITI' to "90999" and you will donate $10 to the American Red Cross to be charged to your cell phone bill. Thank you.
