Globalization and Public Health

Abby Taylor's picture

Nowadays, the issues of globalization and migration that influence people’s health care needs are becoming more and more relevant.  The main objective of this article is to analyze the chapters about the impact of globalization and migration on health institutions. It will also discuss medical care of migrants and global pandemics such as AIDS and malaria and others.

Population migration generates a set of economic, political and social problems. The problem of the impact of migration on public health of the host society and the migrants themselves is one of the key problems nowadays. Unfortunately, it was not studied a lot. The book Culture, Health and Illness by Cecil Helman is one of the first steps in this direction.
