The Puerto Rico Chapter of the Interamerican Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering urged federal and state authorities to use the the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as guidelines for the recovery from Hurricane Maria.

The National Wildlife Refuge in Vieques is the only one of its kind in Puerto Rico to produce its own electricity based on solar power. For that they will be recognized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
