Dr. Tashara M. Leak, Assistant Professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) at Cornell University, is seeking 2 new doctoral students & 1 postdoctoral scholar for Fall 2023 admission.

About the Leak Research Group (LRG)
The LRG designs and evaluates culturally relevant interventions to remediate the ways in which poverty and structural racism impact nutrition and health of adolescents in urban communities (https://www.tasharaleak.com/). We are also deeply committed to food justice and advocacy, as well as supporting policy change. All research, extension, and outreach efforts occur in partnership with local community organizations and members. Dr. Leak’s research program is based in New York City (NYC), so doctoral students will complete Nutrition PhD coursework in Ithaca, NY for 2-3 years and conduct research in NYC during summers and after the completion of coursework. Postdoctoral scholars will be based in NYC and travel to Ithaca as needed for trainings, etc. Applicants who are underrepresented in the academia are highly encouraged to apply (e.g., first generation, Black, Latinx, LGTBQIA+ , etc.).
