The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UTEP (http://ece.utep.edu) offers Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in Electrical Engineering and in Computer Engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The department has an enrollment close to 560 undergraduate and over 80 graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D. students). The ECE faculty is actively involved in sponsored research with annual expenditures of more than $2.3 million. Research activities are carried out in multiple research laboratories at the Department and at research centers in the College and the University. 

Job Description:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in fall 2023.  

The Department welcomes applications from outstanding candidates from all areas of electrical and computer engineering. The Department has particular interest in candidates with expertise in (i) cyber physical system and in (ii) power electronics. We are interested in candidates who can lead department growth, complement current expertise, and contribute to interdisciplinary research focus areas at the UTEP College of Engineering through fundamental disciplinary and/or application-specific research. Priority will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate's work and potential to contribute to the ECE Department's and UTEP's vision and mission of providing access to excellent higher education.

Candidates will be expected to engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, contribute institutional and professional service, and develop vigorous, externally funded research programs in their technical areas.  The application materials should clearly demonstrate the potential of the candidate to succeed in meeting these expectations.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in electrical and/or computer engineering or a related field. Commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Demonstrated scholarly achievements as evidenced by a track record of publications. Demonstrated potential for establishing an extramurally funded research program. Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in academia. Excellent communication skills are required.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
