The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) is pleased to announce that we are now taking applications for the ASPET Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Individual Awards. Please apply by March 1, 2015!

The SURF Awards are aimed at introducing undergraduate students to pharmacology research. Our goal is to heighten interest in science as a career, with an emphasis on pharmacology graduate training to increase the number of young scientists entering the research discipline of pharmacology.

Since 1992, over 1400 students have conducted research in faculty labs through the SURF program.

Participants in the SURF program have opportunities to investigate the latest issues in biomedical research, get hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, collaborate with faculty and other students, build and expand their professional networks, and learn about careers in research.

To apply for a SURF award, visit us online at www.aspet.org/awards/SURF. There are two ways to apply for an award. If your institution has a currently funded SURF program, you may apply directly to that program. If your institution does not have a currently funded program, you may apply for an individual award to conduct research with a mentor of your choosing. The application deadline for individual awards is March 1, 2015.
