The RAND Summer Associate Program introduces outstanding graduate students to the RAND Corporation, an institution that conducts research on a wide range of domestic and international social policy issues and national security problems. Graduate students from a wide variety of disciplines and backgrounds are hired each summer from leading universities and academic departments like yours. Each associate is matched to a research project based on interest and skill level and is mentored by a senior research staff member.  Associates have full access to RAND's research facilities and receive a stipend during their time at RAND. RAND has a particular interest in graduate students with the following types of background:

  • Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Physics
  • Information Science
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering

RAND accepts applications only through our website at http://www.rand.org/jobs/.  Click on "Find a Job," click on "Advanced Search," select "Research-Summer Associate Prog" under "Job Families," and click the "Search" button. Click on the position and click the “Apply Now” button. Follow the prompts for application submission. For full consideration, applications should be submitted by January 15, 2013.
