Miguel Ríos, director ejecutivo de Aemead, admitió que en el pasado la colmena era destruida por los funcionarios de manejo de emergencias, por lo que estos adiestramientos le permiten manejar de una nueva forma la presencia de abejas.
The protocol of removing beehives in Puerto Rico by several federal agencies is under revision in order to protect the hives. The bees play an important role in seed dispersion in the ecosystems around the Island.
