Ignite Science Camp looking for proctors

The Ignite Science Camp, a two-week science immersion program for high school students with a proven interest in Science, is now enrolling facilitators for their inaugural session (June 6th-20th 2015). A total of 25-30 student participants are expected to enroll in this intensive educational experience that includes problem-based learning, experimental science, research seminars and offsite excursions.

Among the areas covered are: Manipulation of DNA, Expression and Purification of Proteins, Development of Biopharmaceuticals, Biotechnology in Puerto Rico and Patents and Intellectual Property, among others.

The program is seeking the help of proctors or facilitators to help supervise educational activities for the student participants. We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals capable of communicating the joy of Science to a group of teenagers.

Applicants must be actively pursuing a graduate degree in a relevant area of Science (Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Engineering). Undergraduates with meaningful experience in laboratory-based research will also be considered.

Compensation: $500 for the two-week period
