Latina Researchers Conference
** Deadline EXTENDED! Please submit no later than Saturday, February 15th, 2014, 12:00pm ET **
Travel Awards are available to attend the 2014 Latina Researchers Conference in New York City, April 3-5, 2014. Awards of $500 will subsidize lodging and travel costs to attend the meeting. Priority will be given to first author presenters who are early career investigators or graduate students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds in research and academia (e.g., are from racial/ethnic minority populations, grew up in a low-income community, is a first generation college student, or a member of other under-represented groups). Travel Awards are sponsored primarily by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Annie C. Casey Foundation, and contributions from other institutes and organizations.
Eligibility & Guidelines:
* Early career investigators must have completed their doctoral degree within the last seven years.
* Applicants must have completed the registration application for the Conference by submission.
* Awardees must pay Conference registration fees and attend all conference programs.
* Travel Awards will be provided based on availability of funding.
To apply, please submit a brief self-statement (500 words maximum) indicating your need to receive this award and a recent copy of your curriculum vita. In your self-statement, please make sure to also indicate: 1) current position (e.g., Tenured Professor, Post-Doctoral Fellow, Doctoral Student); 2) year highest degree was earned; and 3) where you will be traveling from to attend the conference. Application materials should be submitted as a single Word or PDF document no later than February 15, 2014, 12:00pm (noon) ET, to Dr. Josie Serrata at Josie@LatinaResearchers.com.
